"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."— Mark Twain

ATTENTION AUTHORS: As of December 2011, I am no longer taking review requests.

Please do NOT contact me asking for a review. It will be immediately deleted from my inbox – I won’t even open it. I am overbooked and need to catch up before I can accept any more requests.

(If I have worked with you before or know you personally, this does not apply to you. Please send me an e-mail; I might be able to squeeze you in!)

Thank you for understanding!

Review Policy

Here on Proud Book Nerd, I will ONLY review books and book-related items (book shelves, Kindle, etc.). If you have something else you would like to have reviewed, please visit my personal blog, Ramblings & More.

***As of December 16, 2011, I am NOT accepting review requests! I am overbooked and need to spend some time catching up. PLEASE DO NOT SEND REQUESTS! THEY WILL GO IGNORED!***

Genres

I am always open to new books, new authors, and even new genres (to a point). The following are my favorites:

  • Fantasy
  • Christian fiction
  • Thrillers
  • Chick lit
  • YA

There are very few genres I won’t at least try. But, the following are genres I have no interest in (please do not contact me about them):

  • Horror
  • Nonfiction (with the exception of Christian living and memoirs)
  • Sci-fi (yes, I LOVE fantasy. Sci-fi, not so much.)

Formats

I will accept ARCs, final prints, and occasional e-books (must be Kindle-ready). Please be aware that I do not use my Kindle very often, and I have a STRONG preference for physical books. As such, there is a greater chance of an e-book getting forgotten! I do not “read” audiobooks. If you send me an ARC, I will not sell it after I am finished. However, I reserve the right to donate it for a tour (such as Around the World Tours, Crazy Book Tours, and other such sites) or to give it away to a friend and/or reader.

Self-Published Authors

While I prefer authors backed by a publisher, I am willing to consider self-published authors.

Time Frame

I cannot guarantee a specific date or time for most reviews. I have a family that takes priority, and will not sacrifice them for this blog. As such, I will do my best to get to your book ASAP, but realize that it might be weeks before I can read it. I also cannot guarantee a review at all. If you send me a book to review, I will do my best to make sure it gets reviewed. Sometimes, though, life gets in the way. I apologize in advance if your book doesn’t get reviewed.

Honesty

I believe in providing a service to my readers, and will NOT avoid publishing negative reviews. I try to always find something positive in a book, but I will not sugar coat any criticism I might have. I hate writing reviews that aren’t positive, but I refuse to sacrifice my credibility – or my integrity – to keep from ruffling feathers. Do NOT approach me after reading a negative review to argue my opinion.

Posts

I do not generally write my own summary of the book. I figure the publisher has done so, and usually done an excellent job of it. I try to get the blurb on the back of the book, but when that’s not easily inserted into the blog (via copy & paste), then I usually use what’s found on the book’s page at Goodreads.com. ***Unless otherwise noted, the summary in my post is either what was sent to me by the publicist, publisher, or author or it came from the back of the book.***

In addition to here on Proud Book Nerd, I also post most of my reviews on Goodreads.com. If you would like me to make sure to do so, please just ask. I’m happy to help spread the word. If you would like me to post my review on Amazon.com, you must make sure to request that. I don’t usually post my reviews on Amazon, but I am happy to do so if asked.

Contact –PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR REVIEWS AT THIS TIME I DO NOT HAVE OPENINGS RIGHT NOW

If you would like to request a review of your book, please use my contact form.
