Your tiny image took my breath away.
A precious baby with nothing to hide,
My sweet, little son nestled inside.
There’s just something about a boy…
since around month five,
Waiting for the day
you’d finally arrive.
Stuffed animals, blankies,
your daddy’s first glove–
They sat in your room,
awaiting your love.
There’s just something
about a boy…

My Thoughts: This is such a sweet, touching story about being a mother of a boy. I have a son, and every word in this book rings true. There really is just something about a boy …
I read this to my three children tonight, and I could tell that my son (who is now 5) appreciated the sentiment. He gave me big hugs after reading, which isn’t the usual routine! LOL One more reason to love this book!
While reading, I found in some spots I got a little teary-eyed. The beginning was especially touching, as it was quite similar to the beginning of our journey with our son.
The sweet illustrations add the finishing touches – oh, and there’s one or two that cracked the kids up while reading. (Teaching the son to drive, need I say more?) My kids and I love this book!
