Blog Tour & Review: Route 66 by Krish Kandiah

Route 66Summary: For many of us, there is a disconnect between the Bible we treasure and the book we struggle to read. Route 66 is an eight-week course to learn how to let the whole Bible guide your life.

The eight sections–living faithfully, distinctively, emotionally, imaginatively, discerningly, purposefully, infectiously and hopefully–also provide an introduction to the eight different kinds of literature within the Bible. Each section includes questions for discussion and five days of daily readings.

My Thoughts: I originally started reading this with the intent to read it all the way through, then possibly read it again and do the Bible study part. Shortly after starting the book, I realized that I should just dive on in with the Bible study. As a result, I have not read the whole thing yet. I’m taking it day-by-day, as indicated in the book. And it’s a very good study. It makes me think about the Bible differently than it has before, and it gives me a fresh perspective. My approach in reading isn’t the way it used to be: no more approaching it much the way I’d approached homework back in high school – as a necessary evil (Yes, I am aware of the irony!). As a literature buff, this new way of looking at the Bible and the types of literature contained within really helps me to be more open to it. I find that I am really enjoying the reading and thought-provoking questions included in this book. I would highly recommend this for anyone who’s been struggling with their Bible reading.

    thanks for your review!
It sounds like the book is doing what we hoped it would – helping people to reconnect with the Bible. We hope you enjoy the rest of the book and that it helps you to connect closely with the God who authored it. Thanks again
