I = Clare, Funke, and Numeroff
OK, OK. I know they’re not “I” authors. BUT, they all have series (or a series of books) that start with “I.” I don’t think any of them is all that new, but they’re pretty good authors.
Cassandra Clare, I’m guessing here, is most widely known for her first series, The Mortal Instruments. I have not read a single book in that series. I plan to, just haven’t yet. Her newer series, The Infernal Devices, is what I’m talking about. The first book, Clockwork Angel, was one of the best I read from 2010. I totally get why Clare is such a popular author. She has an amazing talent. I am excitedly – VERY excitedly – waiting for the next book, Clockwork Prince, which is due out in December (much too far from now).
Cornelia Funke is the author of the Inkheart trilogy. I LOVED that trilogy. I picked up Inkspell at my daughter’s book fair at school when she was in Kindergarten. I had no idea it was second in a series. Once I found out for sure, I decided to go ahead and pick up the first book, Inkheart. I was spellbound, and couldn’t read these books fast enough. The final book, Inkdeath, is what compelled me to finally start using our local library! LOL Excellent, excellent series.
Laura Numeroff is the author of several, very clever, fun children’s books, the first of which (at least to my knowledge) is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. The book is so cute, so clever. I find it fascinating. To come up with something like that would take ME painfully long! LOL It’s a loop, and the way it folds back into itself is remarkable. I call this the If You Give … series of books, because there are other books that start the same way: If You Give a Moose a Muffin, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and more. My kids (and I) love her books, and we have several of them.

I was going to see if I could find books to list like this on one of the letters I’m stuck on!
Of course, I loved Inkheart and I must read Inkspell. But wait, you know that!
I have got to get round to reading Cassandra Clare’s books…
Love the mousey book!
