Coming in June: Authors from A to Z Challenge

Before I explain, I must give credit where it’s due. For the month of April, I participated in an A to Z Challenge on my other blog. I found that meme by reading blogs I typically follow, and it pointed me to Tossing It Out. This challenge is actually hosted by many blogs, but Tossing It Out was my go-to blog for all things A to Z Challenge. As I did my posts, at one point I was kinda stuck, and decided to highlight some of my favorite authors. Then I thought, I shoulda done that for the whole challenge! At that point, it was too late, but I briefly thought about doing that here. But, I didn’t want to do the challenge on both blogs simultaneously (one at a time is enough). Once that challenge came to an end, I decided that I definitely wanted to do an A to Z author challenge. The next question was when.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this year, I’m taking every few months off from scheduled reviews to give myself some time to do more leisurely reading. The next month I have that planned for is June, another 30-day month. The A to Z Challenge entailed posting every day, except Sundays, to make it through the alphabet. And June will work perfectly – (mostly) empty calendar (book-wise) and the perfect number of posting days!

Anyway, I present to you my Author’s from A to Z challenge.

Authors from A to Z

I am so, so excited about this! So, here’s the info.

How it works

It starts on June 1. Basically, just share your favorite authors in alphabetical order (by last name). (For examples, see my posts for N, O, and Q.) One letter in one post each day, going through the alphabet. (Remember to skip Sundays.)

What’s the point?

Mostly to have fun. Also, to use this as an opportunity to acquaint others with some of my favorite authors.

Wanna play along?

I sure hope so! I want to find new authors, too!

To play, just sign up in the linky below. Feel free to grab the button above. And, please, spread the word, too! Please be so kind as to link back to me. Have fun!

    Neat idea!

I won’t be able to do it all month, but maybe I can combine my Authors A to Z into one post. I’ll do it at the beginning of June and link the post up.

Just saw this today (from your reminder post) and thought it was a rather good idea! I have spent an hour trying to come up with favourite authors for all the letters in the alphabet, but I’ve come up short with 5 of them. I’ll come up with some sort of idea for those posts, though!!

Looking forward to the beginning of the event! :)

Thank you for joining me! :-) I’m quite excited. I think the planning is the hardest part. I’m going to start writing later this weekend. I figure the ones I get stuck on I’ll get creative – book titles instead of authors, or something else. So long as it’s book-related. ;-) I can’t wait to see your posts!

Well, you could dive on in, then post the letters you missed at the end. Just keep going into July until you’ve done all the letters.
