Review: Eat Your Peas for Mom

Eat Your Peas, Mom: Simple Truths and Happy InsightsEat Your Peas, Mom: Simple Truths and Happy Insights by Cheryl Karpen

Summary (from Goodreads): Eat Your Peas® Mom is a 3-minute read with a forever message. Upon opening this little package, her heart will smile through the pages filled with affirmation, appreciation, and gratitude expressed for all the ways she loves and cares for you. Each page is artfully hand-illustrated for a charming and homespun feel. It’s a perfect keepsake and reminder for Mom to hold onto forever.

My Thoughts: It’s sweet, but a little too sweet. I don’t know anyone whose relationship with their mother – even as an adult – is as good as this book implies. I, personally, might feel a little disingenuous giving this book to my own mother. Not because she didn’t do her best; she did do her best. Not because I don’t love and appreciate her; I do love and appreciate her. But, the life this book describes is not one I had during my childhood. But, I suppose there are some people out there for whom this book would be perfect.

That all said, this book is gorgeous. The paper is textured and beautiful. The graphics and color choices are gorgeous. The sentiments are lovely. I think any mother would be blessed and feel very loved to receive this as a Mother’s Day gift. If you want a sneak peak, in order to help you determine if this would work, go HERE.

My Rating: 3.5 stars
