Summary (from Goodreads): Deep inside the great Oak lies a dying faery realm, bursting with secrets instead of magic. Long ago the faeries mysteriously lost their magic. Robbed of their powers, they have become selfish and dull-witted. Now their numbers are dwindling and their very survival is at stake.
My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. It’s a tale of faeries after the Sundering, an event that left them without magic. Bryony is a headstrong, curious faery child at the beginning of the book, and these qualities serve her well throughout the story. When she comes of age, Bryony becomes the Queen’s Hunter, a job that affords her much of the freedom she craves. She gets to leave the Oak, fly, and explore. This leads to friendship with Paul, a human paralyzed from the waist down after an accident. With the help of Paul, Bryony – now called Knife – sets on a quest to discover the truth behind her people’s history. How did they lose their magic? What causes the Silence, a “disease” that results in death, and can it be cured? How can the faeries get their magic back? Can the Queen be trusted? These are all questions for which Knife is searching for answers.
It is a wild, fun, magical ride in a world filled with faeries. It is a new take on faeries, and one that I really was able to dive into. Fans of the fantasy genre – especially of faeries – are sure to enjoy this tale. I have no idea how many books are planned in this series, but I look forward to seeing what’s next!

Seems like a very exciting and wonderful read. I'm adding this to my wishlist. Thanks.
5 stars pretty impressive. I'll have to read more on this before I jump on the faery tour. The one I am completely wrapped in is Karen Marie Monig's FaeFever. Very dark look at faes with dark & malicious powers to wreak havoc in lives of the innocents.
My recent post Mailbox Monday & In My Mailbox
There are some dark faeries in the sequel, Wayfarer.
