The Time Has Come: Got Books? Is HERE ~ GIVEAWAYS

http://gotbooksevent.blogspot.com

Yep, that’s right Got Books? is FINALLY here! :-D And what is Got Books? you ask? Well, the short story is it’s a 48-hour event that celebrates book bloggers! More than 100 book bloggers are on board, offering YOU a chance to WIN FREE books and/or book-related things!

And, with that out of the way, first the general info. If you want to find ALL of the blogs participating (and give yourself a chance to win more than 100 prizes), just go HERE.

Now for my giveaway. For one lucky winner, I have a copy of two books:

The Host, by Stephenie MeyerThe Host

The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. But Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. Melanie fills Wanderer’s thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves–Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she’s never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.–From publisher description.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, by Stephenie MeyerThe Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits.

In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood… life before she became a vampire.

All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don’t draw attention to yourself and, above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn’t know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out.

Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as “her”. As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trust. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth?

Yes, my friends, this is a Stephenie Meyer-themed giveaway. I happen to have an extra copy of The Host, so I’m happy to give one away. (And it is brand-spankin’ new, never been opened.) And, well, Bree Tanner is new. I don’t have a copy of that, but will order it and have it sent to you.

The Rules:

The contest is open NOW and closes promptly at midnight (Central Time) Sunday, July 25. This is open to those of you in the U.S. and Canada (sorry, everyone else). A winner will be chosen randomly with the help of random.org. I will send the lucky winner an e-mail notification. (It will come from proudbooknerd(at)gmail(dot)com, so make sure to add this address to your safe list or address book to ensure it doesn’t get lost in junk/bulk mail.) If I do not get a response within 48 hours, a new winner will be chosen.

As for how to enter, it’s pretty simple. I don’t require a lot. I just need you to fill out the form below. Once you do, you’re entered. I don’t require anything other than that. BUT, you can earn 3 extra entries (for a total of 4, max).

Optional Extras for Additional Entries (1 extra entry each):

  • Being or becoming a public follower via Google Friend Connect
  • Following me on Twitter (@ProudBookNerd)
  • If you add up your entries, you’ll get an extra one

GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED SUNDAY, 7/25

Believe it or not, though I do have a copy of The Host (signed even), but not of her new one. I'd love to win it! Thank you so much for participating in Got Books? and for hosting this great giveaway!
