My Thoughts: This was a fun read with an interesting, at times heavy, plot. Not only that, but it was written quite well. As stated above, this book is “starring” Jessie, a 15-year-old with ADHD. Written in the first person, this book reflects Jessie’s state of mind quite well! At the beginning of the book, I felt dizzy reading it. The way she jumped from topic to topic, often within a matter of a sentence or two. It was interesting, to say the least. But I know it is fitting. That’s the mind of someone with ADHD (at least I think it is). I also like how, as the story progresses and Jessie gets some order in her life, the writing reflects that. Her thoughts aren’t as scattered, and you can tell she’s learning how to focus. I honestly didn’t even notice that until after I had finished, when I was thinking back through the book, deciding what to say about it.
My Rating: 4 stars
