Review: Jekel Loves Hyde

Jekel Loves Hyde Jekel Loves Hyde by Beth Fantaskey

Summary: Jill Jekel has always obeyed her parents’ rules – especially the one about never opening the mysterious, old box in her father’s office. But when her dad is murdered, and her college savings disappear, she’s tempted to peek inside, as the contents might be key to a lucrative chemistry scholarship.

To better her odds, Jill enlists the help of gorgeous, brooding Tristen Hyde, who has his own dark secrets locked away. As the team of Jekel and Hyde, they recreate experiments based on the classic novel, hoping not only to win a prize, but to save Tristen’s sanity. Maybe his life. But Jill’s accidental taste of a formula unleashes her darkest nature and compels her to risk everything – even Tristen’s love – just for the thrill of being… bad.

My Thoughts: What a delightful surprise! I have seen this book all over the Internet recently, and it sorta piqued my interest. I thought it sounded interesting, but had no idea how much I would enjoy it! This was fun, with a twist of darkness and mystery. And it made me decide that I need to read Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde – now I really wanna know the story behind this story!

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars Note: On Goodreads it’s actually 4 stars, because half stars aren’t possible on there.

Good review like you I've seen this book popping up everywhere. The play on words with the characters name combined is a throwback to the original Dr Jekyll & Hyde, a darker story but essentially a must read.

Will go to Goodreads to see your other reviews now.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Yep, I caught that reference to the older story. I just haven't read that story yet. (Which is amazing, given that my degree is in Lit. LOL)
